MiBaseNZ grant recipients

The Mornington Toy Library was recently named one of the recipients of a grant that will pay for our toy and membership database, currently hosted out of MiBase Australia, to be moved over to the new MiBase NZ! We get to make the transfer for free, get 3 months of free hosting, and a free training session which will be absolutely invaluable to our new Librarian next year. Thank you so much, MiBase NZ! We are excited to make the shift...

Request for truffles support

The Committee is requesting help from members to support the truffles fundraiser in two ways. 1) Contribute to Butter Month! Butter is the most expensive truffle ingredient and we need your help to get enough. You can bring a 500g block of butter in to the Library the next time you visit, or can donate directly to our truffles bank account, Kiwibank: 38 9011 0374199 03. For every block of butter or $5 donated, your name will go in the draw to win a $20 concession card! 2) Suggest a sponsor. Know a business or organisation who might be willing to sponsor our fundraiser through cash, time or materials? Get in touch! We have a sponsorship package that outlines benefits to sponsors at 3 levels of donation, including having a logo on every box of truffles (that's 1300 logos!). Thank you!

WANTED! Committee members

Hi all, We would love to have a few more mums or dads join us on the toy library's committee. It's not a huge time commitment - we meet once every 6 weeks or so. And no special skills are required to join - just a willingness to lend a hand where you can. To sweeten the deal, you get a premium membership (no toy hire fees) for the price of a regular membership! That's all your toys for just $40/year. Membership renewals are due soon, so please consider joining us on the Committee.

Thanks, Lottery grant!

The Mornington Toy Library committee would like to thank the Lottery Community Grant for providing the funds for us to purchase some amazing new toys including a Duplo street sweeper, a wooden horse trailer, and the game Q-bitz Junior. Who will be the first to hire these in the new year? Hope you're all enjoying the school holidays!

Butter Month is here!

September is butter month at the toy library. Bring a block of butter or a $5 donation to the toy library and be in to win a $20 concession card. Every block of butter or $5 donation enters your name in the draw. Butter is the most expensive ingredient in our truffles and your donations help us bring down the cost of truffle-making, thus providing the library with more profit for buying toys. See the 'Truffles' tab on our website for more information and for the Library's bank details.

Easter Colouring Competition

The Mornington Toy and Games Library will again be hosting its annual Easter coloring competition. Watch your email for a PDF of the coloring page, or pick one up from Rebecca the next time you're in at the library! Entries are due on 24 March and prize winners will be drawn from each of the following categories: under 2’s, 2-3 years, 3-4 years, 4+.

New phone number

Please note that the Toy Library now has a new phone number:  027 553 5029. Feel free to give us a ring if you know you won't make it in to renew your toys this weekend.
